We like to invite you to attend the 1st International Interdisciplinary Conference on Bleeding and Thrombosis in Mechanical Circulatory Support – BTMCS 2008, which will be held under the auspices of the International Society for Rotary Blood Pumps, the Austrian Society for Implantology and Tissue Integrated Prosthetics, and the Medical University of Vienna in the center of Austria’s capital Vienna.

BTMCS 2008 will provide a magnificent scientific program with an outstanding international, interdisciplinary scientific faculty from the fields of bioengineering, hematology, hemostaseology, anesthesiology and intensive care medicine, as well as cardiac surgery for a landmark learning experience for medical professionals.

The overall goal of this conference is to guarantee its attendees an excellent educational event, where leading experts in their field will present basic science knowledge of clot formation and platelet function as well as discuss standard anticoagulant and anti-platelet therapies and new drugs in the pipeline. For the first time in our medical community BTMCS 2008 will create a real interdisciplinary platform and forum to discuss bleeding and clotting problems with the use of MCS.


Finally, an attractive social program in and around Vienna will provide incentives for accompanying guests to enjoy spring in the heart of Europe.
